How to Design Your Business Wrap

When it comes to vinyl vehicle wraps for advertising, it can be difficult to determine how to create the perfect wrap for your business. In addition to the design of the wrap and the materials used, it is important to consider what vehicle type is best for your business wrap. Whether you drive a compact hatchback, a large van, or a tall truck, the shape and size of your vehicle can drastically impact the final design of your wrap. As the foundation for your vehicle wrap, it is worth considering the dimensions of your vehicle, the number/size of windows, and other physical elements that can alter the design of your wrap. As leading providers of high-quality car wraps, the team at Wrap Guys knows how challenging it can be to create the perfect design for your vehicle. That is why we have created a list of 3 tips to help you optimize your business wrap for your company vehicle. After finishing designing your wrap, the wrap shop will apply it with Tint Tools, Car Wrap Tools and ppf squeegee as soon as possible.

Creating your vehicle wrap design could be very challenging. There is a lot of competition in the market, and doing it the right way is essential for captivating your targeted audience’s attention. For that reason, you should always work with a professional designer to help you create a design that is attractive and has the right elements to stand out and encourage the viewer to contact you.

On average, your potential customers will only have a few seconds to read and understand your vehicle wrap, which means that you will need to be clear on the message that you are trying to deliver, but keep your custom wrap design simple. An overcrowded sign will make it hard to read and take too much time.

Every color has its meaning and affects how people perceive things, including your business, so you need to choose the right colors to create a positive impression and encourage your targeted audience to become your customers.

The most important thing on a vehicle wrap is to create brand recognition. So make sure to incorporate your logo to the vinyl wrap design on a visible spot.

Tools Needed To Remove and Apply Vinyl Wrap

Tools Needed To Remove Vinyl Wrap From Car

Plastic scraper: A plastic scraper will go underneath the vinyl wrap and pry it up. Do not use metal scrapers as these may damage the paint of your car. Plastic scrapers can be found at any auto detailing shop.

Heat gun: Use this to heat the edges of the vinyl to make it easy to remove.

Adhesive remover: Get a mild chemical citrus cleaner designed to break down adhesive. You can find this in your local hardware store.

Spray bottle: Use this to spray your adhesive remover over the vehicle.

A piece of cloth: Get a clean microfiber rag.

Rubbing alcohol: This will help you clean the surface of your car after you have removed the vinyl wrapping. If you don't have rubbing alcohol, use water and mild detergent.

Tools Needed To Apply Vinyl Wrap

One of the many reasons why people don't normally wrap their own vehicles is the fact that few people outside of the circle of auto detailers and wrap installers have the tools like Auto Window Tint Tools, Car Wrap Tool and paint protection film application tools needed for the job. On top of buying the vinyl wrap film, you will also need to purchase a handful of tools and equipment to help with the installation. Of course, you’ll need to learn how to use these tools, but that’s another subject; for now, let’s focus on simply how much it will cost you to purchase the tools you need.

Squeegees and Tucking Tools – You’ll need squeegees and tucking tools to apply the film to the car. Kits are available online and range from about $30 to $300 or more depending on the number of pieces in the kit.

Knives and Blades – Not any knife or pair of scissors will do when it comes to cutting vinyl graphic and wrap film. Specialty wrap blades are designed to cut through the paper release liner of the film so there’s no risk of damaging the wrap. Professional wrap cutters cost between $30 and $50.

Heat Gun – Vinyl wrapping a car is impossible without a heat gun. The film needs to be carefully heated in order to be stretched over curves and lines in the body. A digital heat gun can range between $50 and $100 or more.

Infrared Thermometer – See the above description (“The film needs to be carefully heated…”) and you’ll understand why you also need a thermometer. This is an important tool for making sure that you don’t overheat the film and damage it as a result. IR thermometers can also range between $50 and $100 or more.

Prepare Your Car before Wrapping

Cleaning and Surface Prep

Clean your car. Non-wax car wash products leave a clean surface to which vinyl wrap will readily bond with Tools For Vinyl Wrapping. Then, clean the entire surface with isopropyl alcohol and lint-free cloths.

Remove obstacles from the wrap surface. Yes, you can wrap around an emblem, mirror, door handle, antenna, or headlight, but this greatly increases the difficulty and time required to get a good vinyl wrap finish. During this process, paint protection film application tools and Window Tint Installation Tools may be needed. Save yourself a bottle of ibuprofen by removing obstacles. Go over the surrounding areas with alcohol once more to remove fingerprints or dust.

Measure each section you plan on wrapping, adding a few inches for handling. Sketch a diagram of your car's body panels and write down these measurements for later. Measure twice, add a little, and cut once. Remember, you can't add material once you've cut it off! If a panel is close to or wider than your widest vehicle wrap, you'll need to make a seam. Don't try to wrap a 60-inch hood with 60-inch wrap – you'll come up short, guaranteed.

Care for Well-Wrapped Business Truck

Vinyl wraps are designed to last from five to seven years and up to ten with excellent care. Wash the new wrap often to prevent any build up of dirt and road grime. Gentle cleaning is best, so hand washing is recommended rather than car washes and brushes. Tough stains might require a spot treatment of isopropyl alcohol. Sometimes you are also allowed to use ppf squeegee to elimate tough stains.

In addition, avoid the use of automatic or drive-thru car washes. In many cases, the rigid, harsh brushes in these facilities can considerably damage the vinyl well-applied with Wrapping Tools. That means you need to have your car hand-washed whenever it needs to be cleaned. While you can still use a jet washer on your wrapped car, make sure you keep the spray nozzle a safe distance away from the vinyl surface so the water pressure doesn't potentially harm the vinyl. If possible, tint tool may be helpful.

Other car wrap professionals recommendations includ

Clean bird droppings and dead insects off of the vinyl surface as soon as possible. These compounds can cause damage to the vinyl if left untreated for extended periods.

Avoid prolonged exposure to the scorching sun, as hot temperatures and sunlight can warp the vinyl if left unprotected from the elements.

No matter what you do, never apply a car wrap to damaged paint. As noted above, it’s basically a recipe for disaster.

Most people’s first impression of the food truck design is what draws them in for a closer look at the menu. Whether you own a catering company, ice cream truck, mobile kitchen, or concession stand, wrapping your food truck in high-quality vinyl wrap will attract customer attention, deliver your marketing message, and last for years while costing less than painting the vehicle.
